California Custom Trailers and Powersports and Bobcat of Paso Robles is looking for experienced technicians. Applicants must be proficient in one or more of the following: Diesel, ATV, UTV, and motorcycle repair. Applicants must also be capable of working in a structured but fast-paced environment and following instructions. Additional training and certifications will be available as needed. We are looking for extremely motivated and self-driven individuals that can take a job and run.

Job Title: Service Technician

Location: California Custom Trailers & Powersports, 2340 Prospect Ave., Paso Robles, CA 93446

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:30, Saturday 9:00 to 4:00 as needed

Reports to: Service Manager

Job Description

The Service Technician is essential to the successful operation of our fast-paced and dynamic service department and contributes to the dealership’s reputation for providing high-quality service and repair of represented brands of powersports units. The Service Technician provides accurate and comprehensive diagnostics, as well as recommends repairs and preventative maintenance, to ensure trouble-free operation of the powersports unit following manufacturers’ guidelines and procedures. The Service Technician is required to complete the available manufacturer-provided online training modules to stay current with brand and industry standards. This position demands flexibility and sound judgment in the execution of duties and responsibilities, as well as the expectation to communicate effectively with customers and other personnel in the sales and service departments. The Service Technician is responsible for providing their own basic hand tools needed to complete the diagnostic, repair, and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities:

-Diagnose, repair, assemble and build motorcycles and powersports units and/or mechanical components according to manufacturer specifications and requirements.

-Inspect units, engines, transmissions, and other components/systems and perform diagnostics to identify reported performance and functionality concerns

-Complete inspection sheets on repair orders as directed, ensuring accurate and comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, and/or preventative maintenance

-Utilize manufacturers’ procedures, tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and maintenance

-Communicate with service advisor and/or service manager in a timely, thorough, and effective manner to ensure on-time, accurate, and complete service and repair on each unit.

-Frequently monitor the DX1 Scheduling function to plan work schedule for on-time delivery

-Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safe working conditions

-Report to Service Manager on supplies of tools and equipment needed to perform diagnostics, service, and repairs.

-Complete all available training modules for diagnostics, service, and repair for the various makes and models

-Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

-One to three years of experience in powersports, motorcycle, automotive, and/or equipment service and repair

-Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow service manual instructions

-Practically apply safety protocols regarding the use of equipment and units at all times

-Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing powersports dealership environment

-Demonstrated dependability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

-Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift

-Demonstrated ability to hook up, back up and tow a trailer correctly and safely

-Good verbal and written communication skills

-Ability to be professional and courteous with customers and co-workers at all times

-California drivers license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

-High School diploma or equivalent

-Training and/or certification from vocational education program or manufacturer program

-Experience in the powersports industry

-Forklift certification

-Ability to speak conversational English and Spanish
