Duties: Working as a member of the Maintenance department, the person in this position performs skilled tasks including: installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of high voltage wastewater collection and treatment electrical equipment and related devices. These devises include transformers, power panels, light fixtures, programmable logic controllers, supervisory control data acquisition systems, and others. This person may also assist other Maintenance staff in learning basic electrical and instrumentation system installation, repair, and maintenance.
Education/Experience/Knowledge: High school diploma or GED, and four years of journeyman experience in the design, repair, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment. Knowledge of and experience with National Electrical Code and Electrical Safety Orders of CalOSHA, pneumatic controls and devices, telemetry and electronic installation maintenance, operation, testing, and repair and preventative maintenance applicable to electrical and instrumentation systems. California Water Environment Grade III Instrumentation Technologist Certificate or the ability to obtain this, or an equivalent certificate approved by the District within two years or a California Journeyman Electrician Certificate.
