Forklift Operator

Job Overview:
The forklift operator is responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, or loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail and an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
Ensure equipment is maintained and functional. Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts and report any malfunctions or needs for repair.
Safely load and unload materials from vehicles, pallets, and racking systems.
Manage inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, record location of inventory.
Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in the delivery area.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Comply with all OSHA and company safety and operational policies and procedures.
Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and to report any issues or discrepancies.
May be required to perform other warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, and checking orders.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification to operate a forklift (as required by OSHA).
Experience as a forklift operator is preferred.
Strong understanding of warehouse data systems.
Good physical condition and coordination.
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy.
Good communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Forklift operators typically work in warehouses, factories, industrial plants, and construction sites.
The job may involve working in environments that are noisy, dusty, and vary in temperature.
The role may require working nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the employer's operations.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
Requires ability to navigate and operate machinery in tight spaces.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Pay: $17 to $25 Depending on experience.
