GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Outside Sales Representative (OSR) to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of customers within a specific territory or vertical. As an OSR, you will drive the full sales cycle, from lead qualification to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.

You will be expected to identify new business opportunities, present our solutions, negotiate contracts, and close sales while achieving individual and team revenue targets.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the general supervision of the Sales Manager.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Training and/or supervision of other employees may vary from time to time and are at the discretion of the Sales Manager.

TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED

Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and qualify leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and inbound inquiries. Build a robust pipeline of prospective customers.

Sales Presentations & Product Demos: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients, highlighting the benefits of our solutions and tailoring pitches to address specific customer needs.

Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales process from initial contact to closing, including negotiation of terms and pricing, preparing proposals, and managing the sales contract process.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by understanding their needs and providing appropriate solutions.

Market Expertise: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to provide valuable insights during the sales process.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Development team to ensure smooth lead handoff and collaborate with Customer Success Managers for post-sale follow-up and account management.

Reporting & Metrics: Track sales activity and performance metrics using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce). Report progress against sales quotas and performance goals to sales leadership.

Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and updates to management to help plan and track business performance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires:

Proven track record of success in outside sales, ideally with at least 2-5 years of experience in an Account Executive role or similar sales position.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with key stakeholders.

Excellent negotiation, closing, and presentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize competing tasks effectively.

Strong understanding of the sales cycle and ability to manage complex sales processes.

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Proficient in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 2-5 years of industry experience in a similar position is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence and fill out paperwork, timecards and daily paperwork. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization or the general public, ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence and the ability to communicate with other employees and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY

Minimum ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form and ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to put information and instruction into oral, written or diagram form for the direction of other employees.

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when required

NOTICE OF WORK ENVIRONMENT & OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS

The wastewater industry can be hazardous due to exposure to biological and chemical hazards, as well as physical dangers, including but not limited to, confined spaces, slips, falls, wet and/or humid conditions, high and/or low altitude, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes and/or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, vibration, sewage, epoxy coatings, solvents, and excessive noise levels. Employees may come in contact with wastewater which contains human waste. Wastewater contains various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals. Workers can be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment. Wastewater treatment processes also involve the use of various chemicals, some of which can be toxic or corrosive. It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols. While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.

MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

The Sales Manager is expected to perform management requirements as required for the sales department.

COMPANY REQUIREMENTS

The Sales Manager must be an ideal example of a Cloacina employee, holding themselves and fellow employees to the personnel, safety, health and ethical standards set forth by the company at all times.
