Immediate opening on small farm in Santa Ynez Valley has an opening for an all-around hand to help with harvesting, sorting and packing produce, and loading and unloading vehicles for farmers' markets. Other duties require minor repairs and maintenance of equipment, driving a company vehicle to make deliveries, pick up and drop off supplies, and cleaning and maintenance of vehicles, packing area and storage areas. Some livestock work such as feeding and cleaning may also be included. Travel to livestock processor 2 times a week is part of the schedule.
Workdays are every other Monday, all Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Work available Thursdays as agreed upon. Hours may vary but nights are required on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for loading market vehicles.
We are looking for a responsible, reliable person with a good work ethic. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Good organizational skills are required. Quick learner with the ability to work unsupervised after training is a must. Applicants must hold a valid CA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Hourly rate is $17.00 per hour to start with 3-month review. Possibilities for advancement.
