The construction yard laborer performs tasks in a safe manner at construction sites and construction yards. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare job sites and support the Shop department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Prepare construction sites by setting up cones and notices
Collection of cones as part of of end of job site cleaning
Greases seal tanks and mixes them
Disinfect, clean and prepare water jugs for crews
Operates forklift safety and effectively to move materials in the yard
Performs routine maintenance on equipment
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of they yard by keeping grounds free of clutter
Inspects cleanliness of company vehicles
Checks inventory levels for the depot and re-orders as needed
Ensures safe storage of materials and equipment
Assists the Shop in completing list of daily equipment safety inspections and reports concerns
Competencies
Organization skills
Manual labor experience
Strong physical stamina and endurance
Industrial or forklift experience
CDL and clean driving record
Experience with hand and power tools
