As part of the GPU Micro-Architecture team, you’ll be responsible for defining a GPU that enriches the lives of millions of people every day!DescriptionAs a GPU Micro-Architect you define the fundamental building blocks of the next generation Apple GPU. You will collaborate with experienced architects, designers, and modelers in order to assess the feasibility of ideas, refine ideas, and seed new ones. You will define new micro-architecture and optimize existing ones; you will use your intuition gained from experience as a guide but not as a filter. The role requires the analysis of specific workloads across existing and new product categories to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. As a member of the GPU micro-architecture you will collaborate to improve our processes and look for ways to boost the productivity of the entire team.Minimum Qualifications
You must have a proven background in CPU or GPU architecture and micro-architecture, along with expertise in one or more focused CPU/GPU areas. These areas include caching, memory subsystem design, data compression and decompression, graphics pipeline design, such as geometry, rasterization, vertex/fragment/compute shader, or texture pipeline.
You must have understanding of high performance, high frequency, and low power design principles.
BS + minimum of 15 years of experience.
Key QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience in either RTL or modeling.
Proficiency in one of the languages VHDL, Verilog, or C/C.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python and Ruby.
Communication and document writing skills as the position heavily involves multi-functional responsibilities and the creation functional specifications.
Team work spirit as we believe that collaboration is key to the successful development of our products.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
