A Santa Barbara based builder is looking for a qualified, experienced and motivated Construction Superintendent to work on high end custom homes in Montecito & Santa Barbara and be part of a growing team.
The successful candidate will have previous construction experience, an eye for detail, and proactive communication skills. We expect our superintendent to have management skills and the ability to build a collaborative team with various trade partners to meet specific project goals of quality and time. Experience with email, attaching documents to emails, uploading pictures and writing daily logs entries into web based project management software is essential.
Job Duties:
Manage, schedule and oversee all onsite job activities.
Attend and participate in onsite project meetings.
Meet inspectors and ensure inspection passed.
Ensure job site safety is maintained.
Work closely with Project Manager and other team members to plan ahead and solve onsite problems
Track project schedule to ensure project is completed on schedule, with quality workmanship.
Maintain daily logs and upload pictures to project management software.
Understand subcontractor agreements and enforce terms of contracts.
Understand prime contract and budget.
Ability to identify change orders in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Five (5) years’ experience in high-end residential construction with at least three (3) years functioning as a Superintendent.
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
Ability to read and understand Architectural plan sets (all disciplines)
Technical understanding of residential construction including building codes, trade sequencing, and best building practices.
Ability to gather information, prepare reports and communicate
Capable of problem solving and dealing with construction issues as they arrive.
Computer experience with MS Excel, Word and Outlook are essential.
