Under the general supervision of a Research Scientist/Engineer, performs technical tasks in hybrid area of Detector Operations to develop and/or maintain new or modified processes. Helps define processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of III-V material Focal Plane Arrays. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing as well as hands on processing of developmental process lots. Coordinates process design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates data to help determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May help in conceiving and planning projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes. Keeps detailed logs of ongoing trials/tests. Responsibilities may include lab equipment set-up, qual and maintenance as well as supporting production as needed.
Detailed Description:
Establish feasibility of new processes in hybrid area with hands-on processing of pilot lots on production equipment
Support Hybridization area lead to optimize established processes and provide sustaining engineering support and continuous yield improvement in Production
Characterize results using quantitative metrology tools
Document methods and workflows in MES-ready format and generate process and equipment work instructions
Collaborate with device physicists, other research technicians, and process development engineers to participate in overall product R&D cycle
Generation of presentations in support of process development plans/status
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience in related technical discipline required
Direct experience in hybridization processes is necessary
Computer skills desired – Word, Excel & Powerpoint
Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English
Ability to use inspection equipment (like, optical and laser confocal microscopes) and semiconductor fabrication equipment, especially related to hybrid area
Strong motivation to be a technical lead for the area

Knowledge of Semiconductor Device Physics a plus

Salary Range:
$50,500.00-$67,300.000
