We are presently seeking a Field Tech to join our team at the Santa Barbara office.
Duties and responsibilities:
Fieldwork related to soils engineering and construction, including compaction testing of soils, aggregates, and asphalt.
Observation of grading activities and foundation construction, identification and sampling of construction materials, and special inspection of concrete, masonry and steel.
Communication with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor's representatives and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
Nuclear testing gauge, ACI and ICC certifications (reinforced concrete, structural masonry, pre-stressed concrete) preferred but not required, we are willing to certify and train the ideal candidate.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Prior experience working in the construction environment a plus.
Must be familiar with Microsoft programs.
Math, analytical, and writing skills are required and must be willing to “learn by doing.”
Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Part-time or full-time available.
