Summary of Job Details
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Parking Systems Analyst manages parking software and equipment, including parking meters and on-street and off-street parking systems. Applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments / projects / tasks of moderate scope and complexity; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action in support of programming, the configuration and the hardware for the parking systems. Plans and implements hardware and software upgrades. Works directly with system vendors and manufacturer representatives on warranties and parts exchanges. Maintains departmental security access and key issuance. Works with HDAE Residential Operations and Facilities Management Small Projects units, Communications Services & the Network Operations Center as well as outside vendors in completing various parking related projects. Ensures security and inventory of tools and equipment. Applies professional business/technical support concepts to resolve hardware and software issues as they relate to the automated parking systems where analysis of the situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Within defined procedures and practices recommends an appropriate action.
Required Qualifications
4-6 years of hardware and software systems experience, as well as secure data and revenue systems or equivalent education.
Ability to perform technical tasks associated with installation, maintenance and repair of field based hardware (and related software packages) permit dispensers, EMV credit card readers and communication systems both wired and wireless including an informational/emergency AM radio station.
Experience in maintaining private and public networks functionality and security.
Special Conditions of Employment
Required to hold a valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies and procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
