GENERAL PUBLIC is seeking a highly organized PRODUCTION ASSISTANT to be the bridge between sales and production/ manufacturing. The Production Assistant checks sales orders for accuracy and turns them into production tickets for manufacturing to produce, assisting in production scheduling and monitoring on time production of orders. He or she generates purchase orders and creates new SKUs and Bills of Materials in our ERP system and maintains the data related to pricing and costing. The Production Assistant must show attention to detail and have a strong command of numbers, Excel spreadsheets, ERP data entry, and excellent communication skills. Candidate must be honest, reliable, accurate, detail-oriented and be able to multitask and switch between activities easily. Production or bookkeeping experience is desired. The Production Assistant will work closely with the Operations Manager, Sales Manager, CFO & Senior Accountant, and the Production team in the Carpinteria, CA office/factory.

Specific Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Sales and Production Support

Access vendor portals via EDI for sales orders, data, and analysis. Sales order entry, tracking and fulfillment.

Create production orders and purchase orders from sales orders.

Create production schedule and track orders through production and update sales order delivery dates.

Circulate factory floor to ensure production teams are following the production schedule and help problem solve discrepancies. Prepare shipments of art to our framing partner.

Create custom reports for all departments to provide management with proper visibility for effective decision making.

EDI data maintenance. Provide post-sales support as needed.

ERP Data Entry and Management

Data entry and new stock item creation in ERP system (Acumatica)

Update items and upload new price sheets and costs

Calculate new product costs and margins and enter ERP system

Create bill of materials for new products

Reporting from ERP system.

Work in a team for design and upgrades to the ERP system (Acumatica).

Qualifications:

Possession of key competencies, including organization, attention to detail, speed and accuracy, reliability, integrity, and the ability to multi-task and keep track of multiple projects

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; superior excel acumen including pivot tables, V-look up, import/export, CSV file and data formatting for manipulation.

ERP experience preferred but not required if you are a fast learner of software programs

Understanding of production and manufacturing and BOMs is beneficial.

Basic accounting, financial modeling and cost analysis experience a bonus.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree

1+ years in production or operations experience or 1+ years experience in data entry/bookkeeping/financial reporting

Familiarity with ERP systems such as online Quickbooks, NetSuite or Acumatica preferred.
