Overview: As a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing data related to homelessness within a community or organization. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the HMIS database, ensuring data accuracy, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and improve homeless services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HMIS Database Management:

Maintain and update the HMIS database with accurate and complete information on homeless individuals and families.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HUD HMIS Data Standards).

Develop and implement procedures for data entry, validation, and quality assurance.

2. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze HMIS data to identify trends, patterns, and disparities in homelessness.

Generate regular and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders, government agencies, and funding organizations.

Translate complex data into actionable insights to inform policy decisions and program improvements.

3. Fulcrum Mapping and Analysis:

Manage daily updates to Fulcrum mapping software for ERF-3 Encampment Funding Project.

4. Collaboration and Coordination:

Collaborate with homeless service providers, government agencies, and community organizations to coordinate data collection efforts and share best practices.

Participate in meetings, workgroups, and training related to homelessness and HMIS usage.

Serve as a liaison between the HMIS team and other stakeholders to address data-related issues and concerns.

5. Training and Support:

Provide training and technical assistance to HMIS users on data entry protocols, system functionalities, and reporting requirements.

Offer troubleshooting support to resolve data-related issues and ensure user proficiency with the HMIS platform.

6. Continuous Improvement:

Stay informed about developments in HMIS technology, data management best practices, and policies related to homelessness.

Recommend and implement enhancements to the HMIS database, reporting tools, and data analysis methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, information technology, statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience working with homeless populations or in homeless services preferred.

Proficiency in database management, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., HMIS software, SQL, Excel, Tableau).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines governing HMIS (e.g., HUD HMIS Data Standards, HIPAA).

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and sensitivity to the needs of homeless individuals and families.

Requires initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to be self-directed and work autonomously.

Must have own working transportation with liability insurance to conduct job-related travel.

Must satisfactorily pass the company’s background, DMV and reference check.

Must meet insurance carrier’s requirements for approval to drive.

This job description outlines the key responsibilities and qualifications for a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Analyst position. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, data analysis skills, and a commitment to addressing homelessness through evidence-based practices and collaboration with stakeholders.

Work hours are Monday - Friday, 9-5 although there will be some nighttime and weekend hours on occasion to attend community events and/or to manage any off-hour client crises that may arise.

Starting salary range is $66,560 to $70,000 (D.O.E) with medical and dental benefits provided, 403b participation and match, as well as generous paid time off. Position begins asap. This is not a remote position.
