Position: Culinary Educator
Type: Part time, hourly, in-person position
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Teaching Locations:Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, SY Valley

Culinary Educators teach cooking classes for Apples to Zucchini Cooking School. In this position you will deliver cooking classes to various groups in schools and non-profits. Our program offers hands-on cooking classes, teaching children, teens and adults how to prepare nutritious, delicious, and affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients. The goal of these cooking classes is to introduce kids to foods they may not be familiar with, teach people of all ages how to cook a new recipe, and have them try nutritious food that may become a new part of their diet.
The Culinary Educator responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Teach cooking classes using prepared recipes and lesson plans.
Provide instruction on menu planning, safety, and sanitation practices in the kitchen.
Share culinary terminology, food cuisines, and general food knowledge.
Maintain the equipment and supplies of AtoZ.
Track time in AtoZ communication tool Connecteam.
Apples to Zucchini Cooking School provides the following:

Qualifications
Prior experience teaching children and teens (ages 5 - 18) OR experience teaching cooking to adults
Ability to work independently
Ability to connect with volunteers
Exceptional time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
Sharp attention to detail with an ability to multitask
Reliable and diligent worker
Able to deliver positive food messages
Available in the afternoons, when classes will be conducted.
Transportation
This position requires personal transportation from AtoZ kitchen to school site. Transportation time and mileage will be reimbursed.
