Answer phone calls and/or direct calls/phone messages to appropriate person.
Prepare patient chart, patient’s room for examination and room patient.
Greet patients when they arrive at the office and provide them with any necessary paperwork or other necessary information.
Interview patients to complete chart history, take and record vital signs.
Schedule and/or re-schedule patients’ appointments.
Maintain patients/ confidentiality and must be educated in HIPAA regulations.
Assist patients with re-scheduling appointments and other scheduling issues
Explain treatment procedure, medications, diets or physician’s instruction to the patient and /or family member.
Assist MD in making patient’s referral to other heath care provider/specialist and follow up referral notes.
Assist MD in facilitating drug refill authorization and providing prescription information to pharmacies.
Contact the dialysis center or other medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for test or admission.
Collect co-pays and other fees required prior to the office visit or treatment
Direct patients to the laboratory department for scheduled blood work and other testing
Verify insurance coverage and assist the billing department with processing claims.
Communicate test results to patients when directed by physicians.
Transport and assist the physician in performing clinic activities for two medcail office locations.
