OUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
We’re a small, entrepreneurial team: We don’t have a constant flow of external funding, we work really hard, and we build as we go. We face social and bureaucratic challenges, in addition to the well-known challenges of working in hospitality or F/B.
We’re presented with new opportunities every day/week/month, and we almost always say yes to them! This means that every shift is unique, and we regularly encounter a new obstacle.
Excitement about evolution: a willingness to lean into whatever comes up, thoughtful creativity, and a desire to grow your problem-solving skills are required to succeed and be happy in this role.
This also means you always have the opportunity to contribute ideas, work on passion projects, and define your own role/career as the company grows.
Mobile coffee is logistically intense: You must understand the importance of logistics, and not only be able to fulfill customer service and barista roles, but also maintain attention on the ‘behind the scenes’ actions, processes, and tasks that allow us to operate smoothly.
This can sometimes be a physically demanding job! Other times it’s very chill.
OUR WORK STYLE
We value dependability: clear and proactive communication, organization and detail-orientedness, and critical thinking are all important in this role. This is not a job where everything is done or perfect ahead of time (or ever?)
We're people people: You must be able to relate to people, show empathy, be a generous and attentive listener, and be aware of your surroundings. Providing a memorable customer experience, even if the environment is chaotic, is important! Yes, great coffee is delish — but the people drinking it matter more.
We go above and beyond for our customers. Our focus is always on making things easier / more pleasant / more individualized / more special for them. If you are a person who is fulfilled by being of service, this is the right job for you
Be collaborative: Ability to both give and get feedback in a collaborative, results-focused, and quick-to-implement way is a must. We’re constantly making small improvements over time, we run the business in a lean and agile way
On that note, learning and adjusting from sub-optimal (often unforeseen) events is a must — we don’t like to make the same mistakes twice! Being super self- and situationally-aware is what will make you thrive on this team
DISCLAIMER, PLEASE READ
If you want an “easy” job where you can clock in/out without having to think or do much, this is NOT a job you will enjoy.
Things are rarely glamorous at Considered. You have to be okay with that, and be willing to work through it together and sometimes independently too.
Knowing how to ask for help is key, and being prepared to get your hands dirty (literally) is necessary
This is NOT just a barista job. Yes, you’ll be interacting with customers and making coffee. You’ll also participate in the operations that go into a mobile business.
ON THE FLIP SIDETHERE'S A LOT IN IT FOR YOU TOO
Contributing your ideas, opinions, effort, and skills is welcomed and rewarded.
Despite challenges, we have a lot of fun together, and we support each other with humor and hands on help.
You’ll get to do stuff you’ve never done before at Considered. You’ll learn a ton from the unique challenges we conquer every day that you’ve likely not faced in other jobs!
You’ll be trusted to work autonomously, treated like a human, communicated with directly if/when things can be improved, and have a say in decisions that affect you (and ones that don’t!)
You’ll be appreciated for your hard work! You’ll feel like your boss and team mates have your back.
