Considered Coffee is seeking proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented barista/willing-to-do-a-bit-of-everything employees.
Yes, we posted in the Business category! Why? Because Considered is more than a coffee shop, and we need people on our team who have already gained skills like: project management, client/customer communications, improving operational ease, proactive thinking — in addition to a desire to work in the service/F+B industry.
That being said, this job does also require physical labor (you'll be boots on the ground daily) and working as a barista in our micro, mobile coffee bus. You have to be willing to help us spread the word by making introductions to your community, marketing the business via pop ups, activations, tastings, and offering inventive, out of the box ideas to grow at our weekly team meeting.
Our ideal candidate has worked in a fast-paced setting and is used to multitasking, is a natural conversationalist, has filled positions where meeting deadlines and documenting procedures is important, and has been called independent, a leader, reliable and dependable, and self-organized by peers and managers in the past.
Considered is a 1965 VW Bus turned full-service coffee shop. The Bus engages in direct to consumer service in various locations in Santa Barbara, serves at corporate offices, is booked for private events, serves at pop ups and activations, and even delivers coffee.
This role is equal parts espresso drink-making, sexy logistics, and growing this thing (everything from handy work to sales to problem-solving in the moment). You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute your perspective and strengths, problem-solve while maintaining intentional hospitality, and grow your community-building skills.
This role requires the ability to process and implement feedback, comfortability handling unexpected situations and embracing ongoing evolution, detail-oriented execution and thoughtful problem-solving, a willingness and ability to ask for what you need, speak up about things that are important to you, and resolve conflict in a mature way, and an excitement about delivering an unmatched customer experience.

Schedule
Part time position(s) available
Required availability:
Tuesdays 6:45a - 2:00p
Thursdays 6:45a - 2:00p
Additional availability a plus:
Saturdays 12:00p - 6:00p
Sundays 12:00p - 5:00p
Location
Our ideal candidate is located in Santa Barbara, CA and has the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods (4-6 hours) and be actively present and engaged with guests in all conditions.
Compensation
Hourly (starting rate $17.50), plus guaranteed gratuity (15%), plus additional cash and card (paycheck) tips (walkaway avg $25-30/hr)

Requirements
Valid DL, proof of auto insurance, and willingness to learn how to drive a manual car (stick shift)
