The team is focused on forecasting material needs for the various PG&E lines of business (LOB) to ensure adequate inventory is available to support new business construction, maintenance, and restoration efforts. Aligning our people and strategies with the clients we serve facilitates better planning and ensures projects can be executed timely and on budget. The Logistical Planners at PG&E collectively manage $200M of material inventory across 5 distribution centers.Position SummaryPotential locations are San Francisco, San Ramon, Fremont, Wheatland, Fresno, and Stockton and will determined between the hiring leader and the successful candidate.This position is responsible for planning, setting, and managing the inventory levels on all materials locations and is the principal point of communication with our business partners to understand and forecast demand in the short or long term.Responsibilities:
Oversee demand and supply planning function for a complex and diverse set of materials exceeding $50M in annual throughput.
Develop material demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons.
Review and release purchase requisitions, initiate stock transfers, and expedite with vendors as needed to meet project start dates.
Closely coordinate and communicate allocation plans in the event of material shortages.
Provide off hours material procurement and expediting support during storms and other
emergencies.
Interact with program management, construction, and business finance organizations
regularly to identify forecast drivers, refresh assumptions, and build consensus.
Maintain SAP planning parameters in alignment with forecasts that achieve target fill rate and
inventory turnover performance.
Coach peers in planning concepts and lead continuous improvement efforts utilizing lean six
sigma tools.
QualificationsMinimum:
5 years of supply chain or related experience
Bachelor’s degree in job related discipline or equivalent experience
Desired:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or related industry
Possess Six Sigma training/certification
Possess APICS training/certification
Demonstrated ability to work in team environment
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple issues and tasks
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrate proficiency in inventory management, statistics, and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
Knowledge of SAP ERP, APO, Oracle Demand Planning, or other software related to demand planning
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the material planning process
