Description We are in search of an experienced Patient Registration Specialist for our bustling Emergency Department. The perfect candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing patient arrivals, accurately collecting patient demographic information, verifying insurance coverage, and handling co-payment requirements. This position is Monday - Friday from 12 - 4 pm with rotating weekends. Responsibilities:

Facilitate the patient's arrival procedure in the Emergency Department, ensuring all necessary demographic and insurance information is accurately collected and recorded.

Adhere to departmental protocols for registration tasks, with a strong emphasis on insurance verification procedures and determination of patient eligibility.

Accurately collect co-payments, explaining the billing procedures and payment policies to patients with transparency and clarity.

Use discretion and maintain confidentiality when dealing with our patients' sensitive information and situations, remaining respectful of privacy laws and regulations at all times.

Liaise seamlessly with medical staff to ensure a smooth transition of patient from arrival through to treatment.

Diligently update and maintain patient account records.

Provide support in other administrative duties as necessary.

Requirements

Requirements:

Prior experience in Patient Registration within an Emergency Department is essential. Familiarity with standard practices, procedures, and principles within this field is necessary.

Strong computer literacy, data entry skills, and familiarity with medical software systems are required.

Superb communication and customer service skills, with the capacity to constructively engage with patients, their families, and medical professionals in high-pressure situations.

Must demonstrate professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information.

The role necessitates the ability to perform well under pressure, multitask effectively, and employ critical thinking skills in a fast-paced setting.
