Come be a part of changing the way the world reads by leading technology for POD.Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer to join the Make-on-Demand Technology (MOD Tech) organization. As a Software Development Engineer with the File Ingestion Experience (FIX) for Print-on-Demand team, you will be responsible for design, delivery, and operation of file ingestion and processing capabilities with customers throughout the book lifecycle. You will collaborate with partner teams owning independant and enterprise publishing experiences, print book quality assurance, manufacturing, data science and machine learning, business-wide operational support, and fulfillment of POD units worldwide. You will work with a variety of technologies to innovate new solutions and features that help our independent authors and enterprise publishers seamlessly publish high quality, print-ready content.We are looking for candidates who are passionate about delivering a world-class POD experience to publishers around the world.Key job responsibilities· Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to develop, design, and bring to market innovative devices and services· Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the books industry· Leverage machine learning and high-performance computing to develop systems that can ingest, process, and derive insights from data at scale.· Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/useBasic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
