Senior Counsel

Provide high quality legal advice and work product to Western Digital’s product management, marketing, engineering, and sales teams.  This full-time position will report to the Director, Associate General Counsel, Product.  This position is based in San Jose, Irvine or remote.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, draft and advise on advertising and marketing materials, including packaging, press releases, product launch collateral, advertising campaigns, sweepstakes, promotions, and other related itemsAdvise internal business partners on requirements affecting all stages of a product's life cycle, including design, development, marketing, public relations, product launch and distribution, customer support, warranty, and related product regulatory concerns Maintain current understanding of best practices related to legal issues in product development and marketing for technology companies, including strong familiarity with intellectual property and privacy mattersPrepare, review, and negotiate complex agreements including those for software licensing, software-as-a-service, co-marketing, strategic alliances, marketing technology products, hosted services including AI models, and marketing, engineering, and manufacturing servicesIdentify and analyze business and commercial issues connected with legal matters that could impact the business or a corporate function, and identify potential legal issues related to business practices and policies
