Description We are seeking a proficient Medical Records Clerk to join our team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing patient records in a healthcare setting. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the health industry.Responsibilities: Handle patient records and charts with confidentiality and precision. Use EHR systems such as Allscripts, AHLTA, Cerner, and Epic Software to input and manage patient data. Perform administrative duties such as answering inbound calls and managing billing functions. Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness. Utilize basic medical terminology knowledge in the management of records. Administer claim administration process and ensure all patient claims are processed accurately. Take responsibility for answering patient inquiries about medical records and handling any issues that arise. Monitor patient accounts and perform necessary actions such as updating records or responding to queries. Prepare charts and graphs to represent patient data for use in medical reviews and reports. Requirements Proficiency in using medical software such as Allscripts, Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, and Epic Software. Ability to handle inbound calls and address queries or concerns effectively. Possess knowledge of auditing procedures and billing functions. Understanding of basic medical terminology and its application. Familiarity with chart and graph interpretation for medical data representation. Experience in claim administration and managing medical records. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of patient records. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare professionals and patients. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy of entered data and compiled reports. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
