Description We are seeking a Switchboard Operator to join our healthcare team in San Francisco, California. This role involves handling high volumes of calls, providing exceptional customer service, and utilizing medical terminology knowledge. As a Switchboard Operator, you will be the first point of contact for our callers, responsible for routing calls to the appropriate departments, and ensuring smooth communication within our organization.Responsibilities: Operate a multi-line switchboard, directing calls to the right departments or individuals Provide excellent customer service, answering inquiries, and providing information to callers Utilize basic medical terminology to assist in routing calls appropriately within the healthcare setting Handle high volumes of calls professionally and efficiently Perform general switchboard duties such as answering call lines and transferring calls Work in different shifts, including occasional weekends, to ensure 24/7 coverage Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations and standards Collaborate with the team to manage workload and ensure smooth operations Assist in other administrative tasks as neededIf you are interested in this role, please reach out to Nick Mussman at 415.276.0358.Requirements Minimum of one year of experience as a Switchboard Operator or in a similar role in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry. Proficient in phone switchboard operations including multi-line switchboard systems. Familiarity with basic medical terminology and its application in healthcare settings. Adept at understanding and using medical terminology in day-to-day operations. Demonstrable knowledge of medical terminology and its application in healthcare settings. High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
