This driver position safely operates a 24 foot box truck and is responsible for loading, unloading and transporting Residential waste containers, to and from customers homes. Driver is also responsible for breaking down containers to optimize space in truck. Driver is also responsible for removal of discarded items from customers homes, such as furniture, appliances, mattresses, etc

Drivers will navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high traffic roadways and may operate in tight overhead environments. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential, to successfully perform this job. Drivers must be able to function a smart phone device. Required hours may be up to the legal limits allowed, and may require weekend work. Work hours will vary by route. Average day for our drivers is between 9 to 10 hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operates vehicle in accordance with the company’s Rules and Safety. As well as all local,

municipal, state, and federal laws.

Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on

standard VIR (Vehicle Inspection Report.).

Maintains a clean and safe vehicle.

Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Manager or Dispatch.

Participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Preferred

Staffing or Manager.

Works closely with Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.

Notifies Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.

Notifies Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots,

street, alleyways or potential safety hazards.

Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Manager.

Completes and submits customer tickets as required.

Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation.

Performs all duties as scheduled by Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed

to meet customer needs.

Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg agility.

Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 75 pounds frequently.

Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and lifting up to 75 pounds. and pushing or pulling

items such as furniture, appliances, etc

Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a GPS monitored vehicle.

Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes

or similar elements most of the workday.
