Are you an aspiring welder/fabricator? WeldTec Designs is looking for a motivated Welder/Shop Helper to assist our fabrication team. We are a fast growing company with lots of room for growth for employees that excel at their craft. An excellent shop helper must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. We would like you to have a min of 1 years experience welding (you will be tested).
Responsibilities
Grind, prep and clean parts
Be familiar with shear, iron worker, press brake, saw, lathe mill and hand tools
Minor fabrication - MIG Welding (various types, grades, and thickness of mild steels)
Inspect machines for functionality issues
Perform maintenance on machinery and equipment
Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
Follow all company rules and policies
Performs other duties as assigned
Skills
Aptitude in using various hand/power tools and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
Ability to weld MIG
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
Very good communication skills
A problem-solving ability
Very good physical strength and stamina – Stand, Stoop, Bend, Lift up to 50lbs
High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
Experience
Welders & Fabricators: 1 year (Preferred)
Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions a must!
