As a Residential and Commercial Painter, you will play a vital role in enhancing the appearance and value of both residential and commercial properties through your expertise in painting and finishing. From interior walls to exterior surfaces, your attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship will ensure that every project is completed to the highest standards, leaving clients satisfied with the results.
Responsibilities:
1. Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primer as needed to ensure a smooth and even finish. - Experience with stucco, masonry, and metal stud framing is a plus.
2. Painting and Finishing: Apply paint, stains, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets, using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
3. Color Matching: Mix and match paint colors to achieve the desired shade and consistency, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the project.
4. Detail Work: Perform detailed painting tasks, such as cutting in edges, applying decorative finishes, and stenciling, to enhance the overall appearance of the space.
5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper handling of paints and chemicals, and safe operation of equipment and tools.
6. Client Interaction: Interact with clients to understand their painting needs and preferences, provide recommendations on paint colors and finishes, and address any concerns or questions throughout the project.
7. Cleanup and Maintenance: Clean up work areas and equipment at the end of each day, ensuring that all tools and materials are properly stored and disposed of. Perform routine maintenance on painting equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
8. Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and any additional expenses incurred. Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience as a painter in residential and/or commercial settings, with a strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, and tools.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in a variety of painting techniques, including brushwork, rolling, spraying, and faux finishing. Knowledge of different types of paints, stains, and finishes, as well as their appropriate applications.
3. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship, with the ability to produce high-quality workmanship and achieve precise finishes.
4. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, bending, stooping, and lifting heavy materials.
5. Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to completing projects on time and within budget.
6. Communication Skills: Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and supervisors.
7. Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to identify and solve problems independently, using sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Driver's License & Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites. You must be able to transport sheets of drywall and ladders with your own vehicle and have your own tools to be self-sufficient at a job site since you will work independently often.
- Customer Service Experience: Prior experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on delivering excellent service and building positive relationships with clients.
