The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal operation, minimal downtime, and support of production needs. This role requires mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
3. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and recommend solutions
4. Respond promptly to maintenance requests, breakdowns, and production interruptions, ensuring minimal downtime.
5. Install, assemble, and test new machines or equipment as required.
6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and equipment status
7. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company policies.
8. Maintain tools, supplies, and spare parts inventory.
9. Provide input on improvements to maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
10. Support facility upkeep, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and other systems as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); up to two-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience .
2+ years of maintenance experience (manufacturing, facilities, or related field preferred)
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Willingness to work overtime or on-call shifts as needed
General computer skills for basic data entry
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Able to obtain Forklift Certification as needed.
Standing, bending, and working in confined spaces as needed.
Required to talk or hear.
Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, heat, or cold.
Ability to lift weight of up to 50 pounds regularly.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with PLCs and automated equipment
Welding and fabrication experience
24V control systems troubleshooting experience
HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry knowledge
Prior experience in manufacturing and warehousing
Prior experience in extrusion
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time; may require overtime, weekends, or on-call rotation depending on operational needs.
