Company Overview:
Rural Solar Restoration is a full-service solar repair and restoration company founded on a fundamental principle that careful planning and highly skilled professionals can quickly and efficiently overcome any issue that may exist on commercial, industrial, and utility scale solar installations. Our team is composed of motivated and experienced solar professionals and we are excited to add a part-time Journeyman Electrician to our growing team.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Journeyman Electrician with experience in electrical systems. Applicants should be comfortable working at heights, including on rooftops, and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (both hot and cold). The role requires the ability to lift 75lbs and climb ladders.
Qualifications:
Previous journeyman-level experience in electrical work
Proficiency in solar photovoltaic installation and maintenance (preferred)
Valid CA Electrical License (license number will be verified through the state of CA website prior to the interview)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Reliable transportation
Work Environment:
At Rural Solar Restoration, we foster a “work hard, play hard, travel often” culture. Our projects can range from a few weeks to few months, with potential gaps between work. Candidates should be flexible and prepared for unpredictable schedules.
Location:
Projects may be located anywhere in the United States. Candidates must possess a willingness to travel 75% of the time on short notice.
Our Journeyman Electricians are Expected to:
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times
Communicate clearly with crew members and crew leads
Possess emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to work effectively in diverse teams
Regularly use computer software to email and read construction drawings
Travel as needed to work on solar PV systems across the country
Job Tasks:
Identify jobsite hazards and lead daily safety meetings
Facilitate the development of solutions, equipment selection, and product procurement
Lead the installation of electrical equipment from switchgear to monitoring systems and all associated conduit and wiring in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local codes, while training others to do the same
Collaborate with Operations, QA/QC, and Commissioning team members to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget
Coordinate jobsite logistics for equipment delivery, material management, and on-site storage
Operate equipment on job sites as needed
Compensation:
Hourly Pay: $35-45/hr (based on experience) with potential for overtime
Prevailing wage rates may apply and may be higher
GSA Per Diem rates for travel and work days
