HVAC Selling Technician
Introduction:
Our client is looking for an HVAC Solutions Specialist (Selling Technician) to join their residential HVAC team in San Diego County. This role is perfect for a technician with at least two years of HVAC experience and one year of sales experience, who enjoys diagnosing issues, making light repairs, and selling solutions that provide homeowners with comfort and efficiency. If you have the technical know-how to diagnose and repair minor HVAC issues and the sales ability to recommend repairs or system replacements, this is an excellent opportunity with substantial earning potential (potential to earn $200,000 a year or more!). What You’ll Do:
Dispatch from home most days and work Monday-Friday from 7am -4pm
Go on service calls to diagnose system issues, conduct in-home HVAC consultations and perform level 1 repairs (e.g., capacitor replacements, minor fixes) on the spot if they take less than 30-60 minutes.
If a repair requires more than 90 minutes, schedule the appropriate team for follow-up service and move on to the next call.
Assess package units, split systems, and all other residential HVAC equipment to determine repair vs. replacement needs.
Utilize presentation software and financing tools to educate customers on repair and replacement options.
Sell repairs when it makes sense but recommend system replacements when older units require costly fixes.
Build rapport with homeowners by taking the time to educate them on their HVAC options while maintaining efficiency in completing daily calls.
Work three calls per day on average, with flexibility to handle four to five calls during busy summer months.
Collaborate with service and install teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Dispatch from home most days, with a few in-office training days per week near Sorrento Valley.
About You:
Minimum 2 years of HVAC technician experience, with at least 1 year of sales experience (selling repairs or replacements), REQUIRED
Ability to diagnose HVAC issues and perform light repairs efficiently.
Strong customer-centric approach, focusing on problem-solving and relationship building.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a consultative sales approach.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptable and flexible, able to handle schedule changes and seasonal demand.
Basic hand tools required; truck provided (can be taken home if living in the service area).
EPA Universal Certification required
NATE certification is not required but a plus
Clean, neat appearance and strong attendance record.
Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
Valid driver’s license (restrictions may be considered, with an apprentice driver provided if necessary).
