With a strong customer base and a reputation for high-quality work, we aim to expand operations and maintain consistent, top-tier service in structural steel projects. We seek a C51-licensed professional to lead day-to-day operations and drive the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of the steel fabrication process, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
Leadership & Team Building: Manage, train, and motivate a team of skilled welders, fabricators, and support staff.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all relevant safety (OSHA) and environmental regulations, and maintain compliance with California contracting laws.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short- and long-term business strategies to increase profitability, expand market share, and achieve operational excellence.
Customer & Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and vendors, and identify opportunities for new business partnerships.
Financial Oversight: Collaborate with ownership to manage budgets, control costs, and forecast financial performance.
Project Management: Coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
Qualifications
Valid C51 License in good standing with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
Experience: 5+ years in steel fabrication, structural steel, or related industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and steel construction standards.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, manage conflict, and foster a positive work environment.
Business Acumen: Familiarity with operational finance, inventory control, scheduling, and risk management.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and team members.
Preferred Attributes
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Proficiency in scheduling and project management software.
Demonstrated success improving operational efficiency and profitability.
