A private household in Rancho Santa Fe, CA is seeking a skilled, reliable, and experienced Facility Technician to join their long-term household team. This is a rare opportunity to work directly for one family in a respectful, stable, and supportive environment with consistent hours and diverse, hands-on projects. The Facility Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and improvements of the estate. This hands-on role requires a wide range of technical skills across trades, ensuring the home remains safe, functional, and visually maintained to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general home repairs: drywall, paint, carpentry, tile, doors, locks, and fixtures
Handle minor plumbing and electrical tasks (e.g., toilets, sinks, outlets, lighting)
Build, maintain, and repair outdoor features such as decks, storage sheds, fire pits, and walkways. Making sure everything is to code.
Execute seasonal and preventative maintenance (e.g., HVAC filter changes, irrigation checks)
Power wash exterior surfaces, maintain tools and equipment
Assist with special projects and home improvement initiatives
Identify and proactively report maintenance needs to the estate manager or principals
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of hands-on maintenance or construction experience in a private home or estate setting
Proficient in multiple trades (carpentry, light plumbing/electrical, concrete, etc.)
Self-motivated, trustworthy, dependable, respectful, and discreet with high attention to detail
Able to work independently while being communicative and collaborative
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
Comfortable working around principals, guests, and household staff
Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check
Owns basic tools and reliable transportation
Must be local to the San Diego area- no relocations
This is a highly hands-on position. It does not involve managing vendors or contractors.
