Pay Range: $28 – $32/Hour, based on experience
DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and daily operation of Cygnet Theatre’s buildings and grounds. This role ensures the theatre remains in excellent condition to welcome artists, staff, and patrons while supporting the technical and operational needs of productions and events.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Operations:
Oversee the upkeep of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting.
Coordinate and perform general repairs, routine inspections, and preventative maintenance.
Manage maintenance work orders and maintain maintenance logs.
Supervise contracted services such as janitorial, landscaping, pest control, and security.
Respond to emergency maintenance issues in a timely manner.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure facilities comply with all local, state, and federal safety and ADA regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain emergency preparedness plans.
Coordinate fire safety, first aid kits, evacuation signage, and emergency lighting.
Assist with implementation of COVID-19 safety protocols and cleaning standards when applicable.
Vendor & Budget Management:
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure quality of services.
Obtain bids for major repair or improvement projects.
Track and manage facility-related budgets and expenditures.
Purchase supplies, tools, and equipment within approved budgets.
Event & Production Support:
Support technical and production departments with infrastructure and facility needs.
Coordinate setup and breakdown for events, meetings, and special functions.
Ensure readiness of all public and backstage areas for events and performances.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in facilities, building maintenance, or operations.
Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction/repair.
Ability to diagnose facility issues and coordinate or perform repairs.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and vendor negotiation skills.
Knowledge of OSHA and ADA requirements.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Working Conditions:
Primarily on-site at Cygnet Theatre’s facilities, including indoor and outdoor areas.
Regular physical activity including walking, lifting, bending, and use of tools and equipment.
Exposure to weather conditions and mechanical systems.
