Pet Services Outreach Specialist & Pet Sitter Wanted! Work 10-20 Hours A Week As A Part Time Pet Sitter Employee
We are a Chula Vista company established in 2010. We are dedicated to helping pet owners find quality care for their fur babies while they go on vacation and when they work long hours.
We are seeking 3 responsible and caring individuals to join our expanding team as Pet Sitters. As a Pet Sitter, your primary role will be to ensure the well-being, comfort, and safety of the animals under your care. This is a part-time position. There's no boring desk job involved here, enjoy the breeze and lots of sunshine!
As a Pet Services Outreach Specialist & Pet Sitter, your responsibilities will be to foster connections with local businesses in our community and promote our dog walking/pet sitting services to grow our clientele in your service area. We are in the beginning stages of opening routes in North County after being in business in the Chula Vista area for 13 years. We thoroughly screen our potential employees, including background checks and interviews, this is not contractor work, you will be a W2 employee with specific shifts. Every position starts at $16.85 an hour + tips + gas reimbursement + paid drive time + paid sick leave + flexible days off. This position is part time 10-20 hours a week and should be used only as supplemental pay, as hours vary weekly.
This position is both sales and pet sitter. You must be comfortable with people and animals.
Pet Sitter Responsibilities
Provide reliable and compassionate care for various types of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, and small mammals.
Visit clients' homes to feed, water, exercise, and play with pets according to their specific needs.
Administer medications and follow any special dietary instructions as provided by the pet owners.
Clean and maintain pet areas, including litter boxes, cages, and backyard.
Monitor pets for any signs of illness, distress, or unusual behavior and report concerns to the pet owners.
Walk dogs and ensure they get proper exercise and outdoor time.
Update pet owners with daily reports, including information on the pet's activities, behavior, and overall well-being.
Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding home security.
Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations with calmness, efficiency, and the well-being of the pets as the top priority.
Maintain professionalism, trust, and confidentiality in all interactions with pet owners and their furry companions.
Sales Responsibilities
Identify and visit groomers, pet stores, vets, dog parks, coffee shops, breweries, small businesses, and apartment leasing offices to distribute donuts and flyers. Introduce yourself and our company briefly.
Request permission to leave flyers and explore potential referrals and future collaboration opportunities.
Strengthen relationships by following businesses on Instagram, engaging with their content, and posting stories about donut drops for increased visibility and collaboration potential.
Monitor connections and partnerships' progress using a spreadsheet.
Follow up on previous connections made, ensuring ongoing collaboration efforts.
Expand outreach on Instagram by following 30 strategic accounts daily and engaging with 10. Craft tailored direct messages, including brief introductions or partnership inquiries, depending on the account's nature. Identify pet influencers in San Diego.
Promote our services by distributing treats and cards at dog parks, engaging with potential clients.
Strategically place flyers near local hospitals to target potential clients, particularly nurses.
Attend monthly vendor events with our pink tent and table to distribute flyers and treats.
Advertise daily on Facebook groups and Nextdoor accounts.
Collaborate with ChatGPT to compose our weekly newsletter email.

Availability
Option #1: You must be available 4 days a week 7:30am-10am AND 5pm-8pm.
Option #2: You must be available 4 days a week 10am-3pm.

Route 1: Luecadia, Encinitas, Cardiff, Solana Beach, Del Mar
Route 2: Rancho Santa Fe, 4S Ranch, Carmel Valley Ranch, Rancho Bernardo
Route 3: Chula Vista, Bonita, Imperial Beach & San Diego off the 905 and 54 freeways.
Missions Valley, North Park, Stockton, Grant Hill, Park West, Kensington, Normal Heights, University Heights, South Park, Golden Hill & City Heights.
Are You?
Physically fit to walk several hours a day and handle dogs of all sizes? We walk 5 miles a day.
Willing to drive 30+ miles a day?
Looking to work in an environment where your voice is not only wanted, but expected?
Capable of handling dogs of all breeds and sizes including BIG dogs that pull?
Willing to take animal behavior, CPR & First Aid classes?
Knowledgeable about dogs, cats, fish, birds and other animals?
Good at posting cute photos of animals to social media?
Looking for a job commitment of at least 1 year?
Job Requirements
Must own a smartphone with large data package, we send a lot of photos!
Must pass a background check
Must pass hands-on tests and training modules
Must have reliable transportation with license, registration & insurance (Total driving can be 15 to 40 miles roundtrip a day bouncing house to house.)

Level 3: Become a Manager, help us with admin work and scheduling, open routes in new cities, train new sitters. Share the profits of our success with a pay raise!
