Application Security EngineerJob Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Application Security Engineer for a contract position in San Diego, CA. Opportunity will be Six Months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.Position Summary:The Information Security team is looking for an Application Security Engineer to become a member of our team. The successful candidate will be an active member of the InfoSec program.Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs.
- Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products.
- Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
- Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
- May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
- KNOWLEDGE: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
- Level at which career may plateau.
- COMPLEXITY: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

- SUPERVISION: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
- EXPERIENCE: Typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants and leadership to address security risks and provide mitigation recommendations within the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Perform security architecture and design reviews of all systems and applications developed.
- Participates in Discovery activities to identify products and services that fall within the scope of PSS Product Security.
- Monitors and reviews security controls to identify operational effectiveness.
- Perform validation of security controls to insure consistency with compliance and industry standard methodologies.
- Contributes to remediation efforts
- Identifies security monitoring posture and assess gaps in coverage
- Maintains broad knowledge of industry trends in the field of information security and other technologies relevant to systems handled by the operations teams.
- Identify application of and configuration deficiencies with PC Anti-Cheat technology o Identify gaps in applied anti cheat measures that could lead to in game or network cheating by malicious players
- Work with technical teams, partners, and leadership teams to translate security risk mitigation plans into action items to mitigate risk.
- Perform hands on security testing of products and services to proactively Client risks and supervise them to resolution.
- Understand, balance and communicate business risk with security risk.
- Ability to understand business requirements and apply security without adversely affecting the desired functionality.
- Optimizes systems, taking into account efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Participates in the development of innovative solutions when and where needed, improves existing practices as necessary, and details these changes to ensure accuracy and portability.
- Documents processes and lessons learned
- At least three years of related work experience.
- Proven technical background in IT systems and networking, along with experience implementing or assessing security in a cloud-hosted environment.
- Familiarity with AWS (or similar) cloud security and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of and experience with SaaS and web infrastructure security
- Privileged access management
- Microsoft Windows application, Apple Mac OS application, and mobile application hardening
- Solid understanding of video game cheating tools and techniques
- Policy administration
- Ability to handle parallel tasks and accurately detail resolutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Outstanding independent problem-solving experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or related field or equivalent experience
- CISSP and CCSP preferred
