Outstanding owner and operator of shopping clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean seeks candidate to be responsible for the efficient execution of Customs Tariff classification, harmonized code, Duties, Taxes, Free Trade benefits and requirements, Spanish language translation and other core documents to facilitate the export of Company Merchandise. Reporting to the Senior Manager Duty Import-Logistic & Trade Compliance, this person must have oral and written English/Spanish fluency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Work with Company buying staff to ensure accurate and timely information for Harmonize code classifications for duty requests.
Manage Certificates of Origin, MSDS Material Data safety sheets, Composition ratio, Flow charts, ingredients labels review.
Responsible for determining the Customs tariff classification, Duties taxes including Free trade benefits criteria analysis and qualifications of new items and Harmonize codes by country.
Well versed with CAFTA, COLFTA, PAFTA, EURO, China, Mexico and Caricom,CEAM(Fauca)-DUCA F Triangulo del Norte. Will determine the duty rates per country in the AS400 system/PIM.
Maintain up-to-date duty, taxes, free trade schedules and provide accurate reports on a regular basis.
Analysis of non-tariff regulations and restrictions, import permits requirements for Classification.
System input of harmonize codes, taxes, duties, translation in AS400
Buy Doc Sign lines and fact tag items Translations (Spanish)
Yearly review and assessment in the AS400, taxes, duties, FTA
In country documentation support with (FTA certificates, MSDS, Product ingredient labels, composition ratio, Specification sheets and pictures.)
Resolving and communicate harmonize codes and duties discrepancies.
Updating Smart sheet reports (Cafta, Colfta, Pafta ).
VAT-IVA Laws determination per country and comparison tax laws versus customs laws.
Country regulations requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-year(s) experience Import Duties classification, Harmonize Codes ( HTS )
Knowledge/experience of international documentation.
Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) oral and written fluency required.
Good communication skills.
Excellent organizational/detail skills.
Computer skills (MS Office) required and Microsoft Excel, AS/400 or JDE preferred, Power Point, Smart sheets, DOMO and Docu sign.
Working knowledge of U.S. Customs and other government agency regulations a plus.
Import/export experience with ocean carrier freight forwarder or customs agencies preferred.
College degree in international business or Global trade Compliance.
