Billing Specialist

Our Billing Specialists handle the billing for a portfolio of properties on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. The Billing Specialist is responsible for interfacing with customers from those properties in-person, and via telephone and e-mail interactions. The Billing Specialist maintains professional and positive customer relations, performs routine calculation of water bills, and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer accounts are handled appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

-Represent the company in a positive manner by engaging in professional and friendly communications with customers and team members in-person, telephone, and email

-Calculate and verify individual water usage for residents, verify meter readings preparing and processing invoices. Check calculations for billing inconsistencies and errors

-Generate Billing Reports, excel spreadsheets and word documents

-Actively listening to customer needs and inquiries to determine appropriate service actions

-Calculate and verify usage, fees, escrow transactions, dates, and reads

-Post payments and reconcile

-Review customer water usage for leaks and meter malfunction and assigns work orders and follow-up when necessary

-Establish and maintain customer profiles and accounts through accurate documentation

-Perform collection processes through phone calls, letters, and emails

-Refer customer questions regarding products or services to the appropriate department

-Perform accurate company-required recordkeeping

-Compile and transmit required reporting to customers

-Contribute to team effort by completing related tasks and responsibilities as needed
