Warehouse and Procurement Associate

Outstanding Biosciences company seeks a highly motivated self starter, with a capability to quickly learn new processes and move to independent work. This role will participate in the warehousing, procurement, shipping and receiving activities for Company. This will be a part time (30-32 hours per week) position located at company facilities in San Diego, CA. This position will report to the Senior Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

The associate will play a variety of roles based on experience, knowledge, and company business requirements, which includes supporting enterprise-wide procurement, as well as shipping and receiving and warehouse operations.

Specific responsibilities include performing the day-day activity – order, receive, identify, distribute, store and reconcile shipments of a variety of laboratory materials and equipment.

Under direction, and with training, reconcile purchase requests from the organization, and generate requisition approvals. Experience working with inventory management systems or ERP systems is a plus.

Work closely with the facilities and lab operations groups in receipt of equipment, and laboratory gases.

Use a computer to perform a variety of administrative and tracking tasks for procurement and receiving. Experience in vendor quoting, requisition creation, order placement and invoice reconciliation a plus.

Communicate across the organization and provide feedback to staff regarding order and receiving of materials.

Willingness to learn new tasks and responsibilities to fulfill the needs of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work independently, and bring attention to detail to all tasks.

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills.

Skills may be demonstrated as part of completing a 2 or 4 year college degree program

0 to 2 years of experience in Biotech/Pharma lab operations, shipping and receiving and/or procurement. Existing levels of experience a plus.

History of personal, independently conceived, projects or activities is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge

Proven ability to execute multiple projects effectively and report results.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work effectively and negotiate with colleagues.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology.

Will require working with cells and cell lines of human and/or animal origin.

Will require working with hazardous materials.

Work in and around common laboratory equipment.

The regular requirements of an office environment (computers, computer screens, workstations, etc.) apply when not working in or around a laboratory environment.

100% on-site work at one or more of the Company facilities in San Diego, CA.

Evening and weekend work as necessary.
