EXPERIENCED-Press Brake Operator

EXPERIENCED-Press Break Operator configures and operates mechanical press equipment to shape materials used in manufacturing operations. Operator performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, forming, etc. on a variety of materials, based on blueprints and other instructions.

Essential Job Functions

1. Utilizes ability to find the needed program on the server and set up/program each machine

2. Able to determine tooling requirements and change out tooling as required

3. Recognizes condition of dies

4. Understands how to feed material through, position, and remove parts from the die

5. Understands how to inspect and document the inspection of parts to engineering drawings

6. Insures production from engineering drawings and traveler paperwork (such as size, type, quantity, etc.)

7. Appropriately treats the edges of the punched parts

8. Physically able to lift/handle safely the material requiring punching and other tools necessary to complete job

9. Accurately completes traveler paperwork and computer data entry in Freeberg’s production and planning software enterprise system to reflect work completed and distributes the parts according to traveler

10. Maintains equipment and tooling in proper working order, performs and records routine configuration/calibration and punch press maintenance as required

11. Adheres to Freeberg Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Quality Management System (QMS), and ISO9001:2015 rules and procedures as they apply to their role in safety and quality

Minimum Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent

2. 1-3 years of experience in the field and/or related area

Abilities Required

1. Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, respiratory equipment, steel-toed shoes, and/or other appropriate protective clothing

2. Work in an outdoor (non-air conditioned / non-heated) industrial shop environment

3. Work well with others with strong teamwork skills

4. Able to read, write, and understand English - communicating effectively to other workers

5. Competent in basic shop math and able to read and understand part drawing requirements

6. Clarity of near, far, and peripheral vision (wearing glasses or contacts as necessary to achieve clarity required)

7. Able to hear and distinguish speech and other non-verbal sounds

8. Maintain area of work and shop clean and free of debris

9. Frequently and safely squat, crouch, crawl, kneel, lean, bend, stoop, twist, turn, grasp, and reach

10. Frequently and safely go from standing to walking to sitting for at least 8 hours per day

11. Maintain balance and climb safely and unaided ramps, stairs, stools, and ladders up to 16 ft. as necessary

12. Frequently and safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

13. Able to obtain training and a license to safely operate overhead cranes (2.5 and/or 5 ton)

14. Able to obtain training and a license to safely operate forklifts (6000#, and/or 15000#, and/or 25000#)

15. Safely maintain and use job-required tools in the form of gross and fine manipulative motor movements

Must be legally able to work in the United States, EVerify compliant

Must pass drug screening
