This is a position with opportunities to grown and learn all aspects of the craft brewing process and industry.
Company Background: Established in 2014, Artifex Brewing Company operates a 15bbl direct fire multi vessel brewhouse with roughly 400bbls of fermentation capacity. We also have a canning line that we operate regularly. Current annual production is roughly 3800bbls. Artifex currently has 2 locations which serve our beers on draft in San Clemente. A third tasting room location is slated to open later in 2022 in Oceanside,CA. Artifex beers can be found on draft and in cans at locations throughout Southern California and in each of our tasting rooms.
Postion Description: The entry level delivery driver is expected to deliver product to accounts and pick up empty kegs while at all times operating the company vehicle and representing the business in a professional manner. Currently we are out on the road delivering 3 days per week. This is expected to grow/change. Keg washing will take place every Monday and Tuesday along with on hand inventory count. The entry level cellarman is expected to
assist the shift/head brewers in all brewery related activites.
Job Responsibilities: The Cellarman / Delivery Driver reports to the Director of Brewing and will be expected to perform the following:
Ability to load, drive and deliver kegs multiple days a week. This includes picking up of empty kegs and acquiring signatures from all accounts visited.
Ability to operate Mercedes Sprinter Van with a full load.
Ability to operate semi-automated keg washer. This includes, set up, break down, and organization/storage of dirty and clean kegs
Daily organization of distribution cold box
Receive delivery orders (grain, kegs, supplies etc…)
Load orders for distribution pickups
Take daily gravity readings and record data
Clean taproom lines and faucets
Mill in grain (must be able to lift 55# bags)
Assist with Dry Hopping ( must be able to lift 44# boxes)
Assisting with equipment maintenance
Future Expectations (after training):
Ability to perform Dry Hopping
Ability to CIP Brewhouse, Fermenters, Brite Tanks, packaging equipment, canning line, parts
Ability to SIP Fermenters, Brite Tanks, packaging equipment, canning line, parts
Ability to transfer batches
Ability to clarify and carbonate batches
Ability to operate plate and frame filter
Qualifications & Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ideally 1 year of brewery and or delivery driving experience
Clean Driving Record
Forklift Certified ( if not we can train you )
Desired Characteristics:

Ability to troubleshoot

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 55# bags from floor to should high
Climb stairs, ramps, ladders
Work in tight, confined spaces
Work safely with chemicals (eye glasses, gloves)
Work in a loud, mechanical environment
Ability to read, write and calculate basic math
