We’re looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our growing team.
(Multiple shifts available)
Ideal candidate will be familiar to the machine shop environment, being able to quickly pivot when needed, and have a keen eye for detail. Training will be provided with opportunities to learn 3D scanning, CMM programming, and more!
Before applying, we require the following:
MUST be a US Citizen or permanent resident (ITAR compliance)
MUST be able to pass DOJ Background check
MUST have at least 2 years of experience inspecting in a machine shop environment
Must have great attention to detail
Must have knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
Must have experience inspecting metal materials and metal parts
Must be able to operate CMM on an operator level
Proficient at data entry
Summary
The responsibilities of the Quality Inspector role is to provide quality support to the production floor by performing various levels of inspections, ranging from Receiving, First Article inspections to Final, by inspecting work for conformance using various measuring instruments and gauges, perform detailed visual inspection of features and surface defects for compliance with drawing, assemble with mating parts to check for form/fit/function, be willing to learn different inspection methods, follow inspection procedures, among other duties. This position is heavy on data entry.
Daily Position Duties
Interpret blueprints, standard specifications
Perform dimensional inspection on machined products using mechanical inspection tools (calipers / micrometers / height gages / pin and thread gages) or CMM when assigned
Validate CMM results that are out of tolerance using second means of measurements
Perform visual inspection based on company standards and customer requirements
Levels of inspection: First Articles, In Line, and Final inspection
Performing fit tests with mating assemblies to ensure conformance
Recording results of inspection and providing critical feedback to shift leads and operators for necessary adjustments
Update multiple Work Orders with quality notes and records
Identifying and segregating nonconforming products
Keeping Quality room and tools clean and organized
Other duties may be assigned
EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE/SYSTEMS
General hand tools, measuring devices, equipment of the department (Calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin and thread, etc.)
CMM on an operator level (Zeiss / Calypso a plus)
Safety glasses and hearing protection required when on Production floor (provided by JL Billet)
Computer – Microsoft Office suite (A MUST) and email
Education:
High school or equivalent (Required)
