Looking for someone who can wear several hats as both a Junior Graphic Designer and a Media Coordinator to manage workflow for busy “in-house” Mac based design department in North County (Vista) involved in the tourism industry. Salary, group medical/dental, 401-k, paid vacation. Must have working knowledge of Adobe software. Great entry level position – will train the right person! The Junior Graphic Design/Media Coordinator performs a variety of print and digital functions. These include the design and layout of printed and digital materials and graphics for advertising clients. In addition, you will perform routine and complex duties in the preparation of printing specifications, and coordinating in-house production with advertisers.

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with departmental management to develop design concepts, gather information, discuss alternatives, gain approval, and review publications

· Have a keen eye for detail and creativity

· Prepare design layouts, specifications, and mechanicals for posters, banners, displays, brochures, and other printed and graphic materials

· Monitor scheduling and overall job production and turnaround time, coordinating interrelated activities with others to promote efficient workflow

· Work with other employees and clients to ensure project deadlines are met

· Participate in the development of digital media as needed

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

· Relevant experience in print design and marketing

· Must possess strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, creativity, innovation, flexibility in high-stress situations, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment including demonstrable evidence of outcomes, and the willingness to assist with all tasks needed to ensure the success of a project

· Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously

· Excellent interpersonal, time management, and oral and written communication skills are essential

· Must take a team approach and be willing to assist as needed

· Computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and specialized knowledge of desktop publishing programs and graphic design software including Adobe suite of products: Acrobat Professional, Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.
