1. Opening For Tax/Estate Planning Lawyer. We have an opening for a tax/estate planning lawyer. We prefer applicants with an LLM (in tax), or who have either (a) prior experience as a CPA, or (b) prior experience working at a tax law firm. For those without a tax LLM, they should have taken the following tax courses: personal income tax, corporate tax, partnership tax, estate and gift tax courses.
2. Firm Description. We are not a full-service law firm. We focus on handling tax issues referred to us by CPA firms and other lawyers. We do substantial estate planning work and postdeath trust administrations.
2.1. We are two tax lawyers, with a well-established practice. We are looking for a business-savvy lawyer, with tax expertise, that as a minimum (a) can handle garden variety estate planning matters out-of-the-gate, and (b) is experienced with Subchapter J and K of the IRC. The ideal applicant, in addition, should also possess entrepreneurial genes to take over the practice.
2.2. Our office is located in Palm Desert, California. We serve clients throughout California. A major benefit of the practice’s desert site: a nice home doesn’t cost multimillions; traffic driving to work is quite different from the traffic on busy freeways. However, the applicant must be prepared for summer heat that daily exceeds 100 degrees.
3. Compensation: Starting compensation $90,000 to $130,000.
4. Non-Smoker: Because of health concerns of the principals, and certain employees, applicants must be NON-SMOKERS.
