Estate Planning/probate/corporate Legal Secretary

Established downtown law firm is seeking an experienced legal secretary with a minimum of three years’ experience supporting a busy legal practice. Responsibilities and skills include document management and organization; calendaring; correspondence; preparing and e-filing pleadings and court forms; preparing attorneys for client meetings and court hearings; preparation of estate planning, probate, and corporate documents; competency in software applications, including word processing, document management, calendaring, and forms programs; communicating with firm personnel, clients, vendors and other third parties.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ law firm experience, including litigation

Working knowledge of court forms and e-filing procedures, including e-filing for State and Federal Courts

Knowledge of estate planning and probate procedures, calendaring, and corporate fundamentals

Working knowledge of general legal concepts, terminology, and principles

Proficiency in calendaring, tracking deadlines, and document organization

Good project management skills

Attention to detail, time management, good judgment, and solid organizational skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Well-developed interpersonal skills

High degree of professionalism

Experience in law firm practice groups

Knowledge/understanding of document management systems, preferably iManage

Competence in various software packages, including Microsoft Office and Essential Forms

Minimum typing speed of 65 wpm

California Notary Public commission a plus

California pay range for this role, with final offer amount commensurate with skillset and experience, is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour
