Position Overview: We are currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience who possesses an eagerness to learn and a desire for hands-on advocacy. This role will provide extensive pre-litigation and litigation responsibilities including drafting demands, managing discovery, conducting depositions in civil cases, and trials in workers' compensation cases. Mentorship is provided from the partners directly, allowing you to grow in depth and breadth of experience and skills. First-Year Goals: We envision the successful candidate to develop a deep understanding of civil litigation claims, engage in discovery, learn the workers' compensation process for professional athlete claims, and participate in depositions, all while gearing up for trial opportunities in both arenas.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle pre-litigation tasks including case strategy and drafting demands.

Manage written discovery and motion practice with partner support in civil litigation cases.

Conduct and defend depositions of clients and witnesses in civil litigation and workers’ compensation cases.

Play an integral role in handling workers' compensation claims, including trial advocacy.

Navigate legal complexities with agility, adapting to evolving case demands.

Participate in regular team meetings, providing insights on case statuses and ensuring collaboration on case strategy and evidence development.

Handle other and developing duties to be determined as the firm continues to scale and grow.

What We Are Looking For:

JD from an ABA accredited law school.

Admitted and active member of the California State Bar.

1-3 years of relevant legal experience, with a propensity towards civil litigation and workers' compensation.

A proactive learner, adaptable and flexible in approach.

A self-starter who is ready to immerse themselves in complex legal matters.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail.

Experience with CRM systems MERUS Case and CASEpeer and/or ability to learn, and proficiency in office software applications.

A competitive salary ranging between $85,000 to $115,000+ depending on experience.
