Hi! I'm an active, easygoing quadriplegic woman looking for a part-time caregiver to join my amazing caregiving team. If you are honest, reliable, good-natured, and a team player, you would be a great fit. You would be working in a safe, peaceful neighborhood in a low-drama household. I'm looking for some extra help on weekends, and possibly one or two weeknight shifts from 7:30 PM to 12 AM or weekday shifts from 7 AM - 2 PM. There will be ongoing opportunities for additional shift-coverage too.
Experience is preferred, and training will be provided. Physical strength and a healthy back is required, as you will be responsible for transferring me in/out of my wheelchair and assisting me with the physical tasks of daily living. Work responsibilities will include assistance with activities of daily living, light food prep and cooking, light cleaning/laundry, assisting with bowel and bladder care, hygiene, dressing, and general help with household tasks. I also need help caring for my pup.

Working Environment:
Both home and field environment.
Valid CA drivers license and personal vehicle required — position requires occasional travel in personal vehicle for errands (employer will reimburse $.59 per mile driven during work hours).
Position Physical Demands:
Walking, sitting, and standing throughout entire shift. Employees will have many opportunities to sit between tasks.
Occasional waist-high lifting up to 30 pounds in weight (carrying groceries in to home, occasionally moving office supplies or medical supplies).
Occasional overhead lifting up to 1 pound in weight (putting dishes or other objects on high shelves).
Slide-board transfers require weight-bearing lateral movement from wheelchair to bed. Employees must have strength and lack of pain/injury in back, shoulders, arms, neck, legs, and hips to safely perform this task.
A Hoyer lift is available for transfers, however this machine requires crouching/bending over and manually pushing the lift over carpet and wood floors.
Position requires vision and hearing abilities to perform necessary tasks.
Job duties primarily take place indoors (home has central AC/heat), and occasional time outdoors is to be expected.
