Job description
We are expanding our team and searching for the right energetic and people oriented person for a position that involves front and back office responsibilities: all aspects of patient care from surgical assisting to managing patient and business activities in a progressive and very patient focus Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice.
Responsibilities:
Assists the dentist/physician with surgical procedures and general anesthesia during oral surgery and recovery.
Prepares instruments and equipment to ensure items are sterile/disinfected and available for procedures.
Obtains dental radiographs (x-rays) including CBCT scans and impressions to assist the dentist/physician in the diagnosis or treatment of the patient’s oral condition.
May start intravenous therapy (IV) as ordered by the dentist/physician to prepare the patient for procedures, per department protocol.
Provides patients with instructions for oral care before and following surgery or other dental procedures to maintain or enhance the patient’s oral health.
Discussing post-op/discharge instructions and discharging patients after recovery from anesthesia
Answers phones and schedules patient appointments
Greeting patients, answering phone calls and patient follow up
Presenting treatment plans and fees to patients
Processes payments and dental/medical insurance billing and verification
Inventory/ordering supplies
Surgical suite set-up/cleaning and maintain office cleanliness.
Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions
Marketing, creating content for social media
Experience/Qualifications:
CALOMSA (not required but must be obtained within 1 year from start of employment)
Experience in an Oral Surgery practice is required.
BLS,
ACLS
PALS
Radiology certification
