0-18 hours / week on Saturdays &/or Sundays &/or Fridays (seasonally) in a rapidly-growing area of the San Diego County Highland Valley wine region. Shifts vary from 4 to 7 hrs. Ideal candidate would be responsible for promoting and processing the sale of our many award-winning wines through customer service, and providing consumers with a meaningful wine tasting experience. Applicant should have good “people skills” and a basic working knowledge of wine, with a strong desire to gain on-the-job training about wines and the process of wine making. Applicant should be able to conduct multiple transactions and perform direct-to-consumer tasting room sales. Maintenance of tasting room facilities, opening, closing, and cleaning are also necessary. Applicant should be able to lift up to 40#, spend long periods of time on his/her feet, and either have, or be willing to take classes to obtain, certification as an alcoholic beverage server (Responsible Beverage Service). Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus, and WSET certification earns bonus points! You must be at least 21 years old, have reliable transportation, be willing to work an irregular schedule, work alone or with others, follow directions, and pass I-9 verification and a background check. You should not expect this job to provide a steady work schedule or steady income. Other work in the vineyard or the winery at harvest and other seasonal events is possible. Hours will be variable based on season, weather, and number of shifts worked. Ideal candidate should be able to contribute to social media functions.
$20 to 25/hr plus tips based on experience, wine knowledge and skill set.
