Position Overview:

At Holsem Coffee, we’re passionate about serving exceptional coffee and creating an environment where team members and guests feel truly welcome. Our Shift Leads are vital to this mission. As part of our cafe leadership team, Shift Leads help set the tone for outstanding service, uphold operational standards, and foster a positive, driven, and collaborative culture.

This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role best suited for someone who loves specialty coffee, leads by example, and thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a role model for hospitality, efficiency, and professionalism during each shift

Lead daily shift operations to ensure smooth and timely execution from open to close

Position and support team members strategically to meet service goals and customer needs

Uphold Holsem Coffee’s high standards for beverage and food quality, cleanliness, and guest experience

Train, coach, and motivate team members on workflows, hospitality, and product execution

Support new team member onboarding and development through guidance and example

Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive workspace for both team and guests

Contribute to sustainability and waste-reduction efforts in line with Holsem Coffee’s environmental values

Help manage inventory, restocking, and product rotation as needed

Respond to unexpected challenges with problem-solving confidence and calm

Qualifications:

6+ months of supervisory or team leadership experience in food/beverage, hospitality, or retail

A strong communicator with the ability to offer encouraging, actionable feedback

Passionate about specialty coffee and committed to continuous learning and improvement

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a leadership capacity

Must be organized, reliable, and enthusiastic about guiding a team

Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed

Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
