POSITION SUMMARY
The Barback is responsible for keeping the bar and bartenders organized and cleaning the bar area throughout their shift. They should also provide excellent customer service and may be required to deliver drink orders as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Bar Duties
Routinely prepares or replenishes garnishes and drink add-ons before shift; Attends to guest and bartenders’ needs;
Communicates clearly with guests and fellow team members;
Assists the bartender in preparing drink orders in a timely manner; Replaces beer kegs and soda boxes as needed;
Runs food and drink orders as needed; and
Promotes events, and upsells food and drinks.
Bar Upkeep
Ensures daily and weekly cleaning is completed accurately; Cleans and polishes glassware as needed;
Routinely cleans the floor, bar tables, and bar surface;
Washes and replenishes glassware, plates, napkins, and silverware; Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms on a daily basis; and
Routinely sweeps the floors behind and around the bar.

Must be at least 21 years old;
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts;
Standing and walking for sometimes long and continuous periods; Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling or crouching;
Often working weekends and late nights; Lifting up to 80 lbs.; and
Exposure to various noise levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company’s Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management.
In addition, the education, experience, and other skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Food Handler certification required; and
Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification is required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Previous bar/restaurant experience preferred.
KEY SKILLS SET
Strong attention to detail in a service-oriented environment; Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills;
Excellent oral communication skills;
Basic mathematic skills;
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment;
Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the dining and bar area; and Team player.
EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS
Working knowledge of restaurant/bar Point of Sale (POS) systems is preferred.
