Morning Prep Lead

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Morning Prep Lead to head our kitchen prep operations. As the Morning Prep Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of a team of 5-7 staff, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for service. This is an hourly position, with shifts starting at 7:00am to ensure the kitchen is fully prepared by opening.

Location: North Park, San Diego

Position Type: Full-time, Hourly, Weekend Availability a must

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise the daily tasks of 5-7 prep staff to ensure efficient, high-quality food preparation

- Ensure daily prep tasks are completed on time and according to restaurant standards

- Train, guide, and support team members in proper food preparation techniques, including slicing, dicing, dough prep, and ingredient organization, and product receiving

- Monitor inventory and communicate with the Chef to ensure all product is on-hand

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards

- Address any operational issues that may arise during prep hours, working proactively to solve problems

- Maintain a positive and productive team environment, motivating staff and fostering collaboration

- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed to support the team

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure that all team members are doing the same

Qualifications:

- 4+ years of kitchen or food prep experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a pizza restaurant

- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role is preferred

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work early morning shifts and manage multiple tasks efficiently

- Strong communication and leadership skills

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

Compensation:

Hourly rate starting at $20, based on experience, plus tips and benefits. Benefits include:
